Who We Are
The Food Pantry is a ministry of Hyland Heights Baptist Church that helps families and individuals in our community who have basic food and clothing needs.
Currently, families can receive food twice a month. Volunteers invest thousands of hours of work each month and we are always looking for help.
How to Help
We are always in need of volunteers to help with greeting clients, registration, paper work, food collection from area grocery stores and the food bank, loading food for clients on distribution days, and folding and sorting clothes.
To help on Wednesday Night Distribution you can just “show up” and we will put you to work where needed, or you can contact the church office at (434) 821-6906. This will help us plug in our volunteers more efficiently. Training is done “on the job” as you work alongside experienced volunteers or one of the directors.
How to Receive Help
Registration is at Entrance 1 on Wednesday evenings and starts at 5:00pm and goes until 6:30. If you are in line at 6:30, you will be served.
You can arrive at the church no earlier than 1 hour (4:00pm) prior to the start of registration. At 5:00pm you will go through the registration process at the main lobby/covered entrance labeled Entrance 1, on the north side of the building.
Currently, families can receive food donations once per month.
