1 Chronicles 16:34
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever

Reflection

At the centre of God’s character and God’s activity is His goodness. Who He is and what He does are great. Always, without exception, He can’t be anything but good. His faithfulness, His power, His mercy and yes, His judgment, all come from His goodness and are incredible displays of His goodness. Whether we are able to see it or recognize it in the moment, everything that God does is good and comes from His nature as a good God.

Because of His good-naturedness and His good-working in our lives and in the world we get to respond by giving thanks, expressing incredible gratitude for the good things that God does! Our worship this week is part of this beautiful response of thanksgiving for God’s goodness in our lives and in His church.

Part of this goodness is the love of God which has always been and will always be. The love of God is sure and steadfast, abundant and overflowing, tender and true, never failing and never ending. The love of God is more than constant, the love of God endures. The love of God fights for the ones He loves, perseveres and overcomes and endures everything which comes against it.

Response

Are you aware of God’s goodness in Your life today? Take moment and say thank You.

How are you able to be a tangible expression of God’s enduring love to someone in our community this week?

Prayer

God who is good, we remember the good things You have done all through history and in our own lives. We remember and acknowledge Your blessings and that every good and perfect gift comes from You. We look to You as our good God and we give you thanks. Thank You for the goodness of who You are and what You do. Thank You for Your love which has endured from the very beginning to today and will continue on forever and forever. Let our worship be a beautiful expression of thankfulness and gratitude for Your goodness and Your love. Amen.
