Just a quick reminder before we get into the devotion. I need help with housing the students from the University of Mobile for the night of June 23rd. If you can take 2 students, please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks in advance for your help.
And David shepherded them with integrity of heart;
with skillful hands he led them.
Before David is anointed as king, before David is known as the man after God’s own heart, before David gives voice to the church’s worship for the next thousand generations, before all of it David is a man with integrity of heart and skillful hands. God sees this in David and calls him to shepherd and lead His people.
The need for people to be shepherded and led continues on. This week our church will come and we need to care-fully, lovingly, pastorally shepherd them as we follow Jesus together. We need to point them to the grace, mercy, faithfulness, forgiveness and goodness of God as we lead them.
Leadership is never about the person on the platform. Leadership is always about the one we are leading people to – Jesus. Shepherding is always about stewardship of the flock for the sake of Jesus the great shepherd. May we be found to have integrity of heart and skillful hands as we lead our church!
How can something like integrity of heart be measured? Is it possible?
Do you find it difficult to balance heart and hands in your position on the worship team?
How can skillful hands be part of shepherding and leading our church in worship?
God our great shepherd, give us opportunity this week to remember the incredible privilege we have to shepherd and lead Your people through worship. Thank You for calling us to be part of this flock and for the calling to be people of integrity and skill. Remind us this week that both integrity of heart and skillful hands are important as we shepherd and lead your people and show us how we are growing together to be more like Jesus as we follow You together. Amen.
