Dear Parents,

Aloha Sunday 9:30-10:30am THIS Sunday, August 13th in the SMC
Just to be clear about this Sunday, everyone from 6th grade through 12th grade is moving up into and through the Student Ministry. Kindergarten through 5th grade will move up NEXT Sunday, August 20th. If your student is a rising 7th grader they will need to be dropped off at the SMC by 9:30am (I am always in the building by 8am and our leaders arrive by 9am so we can hang out with students and build relationships). Everyone will be shuttled to the Worship Center following youth Sunday School to participate in the 11am worship service each week.

Annual Parent 411 Dinner 6-8pm THIS Sunday, August 13th
I want to remind you about the Parent 411 Dinner this Sunday in the gym. Some of you might be thinking, “My student has been in the ministry for a couple of years,” “we know our students leaders” or “we are not new to the ministry why should we come?” Let me just say this; it is a free meal, and it will be the best opportunity for you to find out what we are doing in the Student Ministry throughout the coming year. There are a number of changes taking place this year and we really want your student to get involved and for you as a parent to be informed. I believe that any student who truly gets involved with the Student Ministry will have a great time, build great relationships, and grow in their walk with God.
Practically speaking, it is a great time to complete the HHBC Medical Form, sign up for upcoming events, learn all the important dates for the year and be prepared for what lies ahead.
Since we are catering this meal we really need you to contact Janet Parker at 821-6906 or jparker@hhbc.net to RSVP by THIS Thursday, Aug. 10th
Childcare will be provided up to 6th grade. It is all totally free!

Tomorrow Night – 5:30-8:30pm Wednesday, Aug. 9th
The MS will be playing some awesome games on the rec field behind the SMC.
The HS students will be going to an Escape Room. We still have some room available so please let me know if you want to join us. The cost is $15 for the two hours of challenging, group building fun. The Student Ministry will cover the remainder of the cost. It is vital that everyone arrives at 5:30 so we can get there on time.

Freshmen Fellowship – 3-9pm THIS Saturday, Aug. 12th
We will go bowling and have dinner with Pastor Brian, Nancy and your new Life Group leaders. There is NO cost for
this event so I want to encourage all of our rising 9th graders to join us. Please let me know by 11am this Thursday if you are planning to attend but have not yet signed up.
Parents can drop off their student at the SMC by 3pm and either pick them up there at 9pm or at Brian and Nancy’s house at 447 Collington Dr. Lynchburg, 24502.

Master’s Inn – 5:30-8:30pm Wednesday, August 16th – Cost $5
We will meet at the SMC and all head to the Master’s Inn where we will be playing Bubble Soccer, Archery Tag and GaGa.
EVERYONE needs to have a completed and signed release form to participate. They are in the SMC or you can complete one at the Parent 411 Dinner this Sunday.
Sign up at the SMC Welcome Desk.

Middle School Luau Activity – 12:30-6pm Sunday, August 20th – For all the Middle School students.
There is NO cost for this afternoon of fun, games, and food.
Ride the vans back down to the SMC after worship so you can change and get ready for the Luau.
Make sure you have clothes to play games in with tennis shoes along with a swimsuit and towel.
Girls should bring a dark t-shirt to wear over their swimsuit.
Sign up at the SMC Welcome Desk. Parents can pick up your students at the SMC.

Service Opportunities – 7am-1pm THIS Saturday, Aug. 12th on the main church campus.
The Women’s Ministry would like to invite any student who is interested to come wash cars this Saturday morning to help them raise money for the Women’s Conference coming up in January. If you have a student who would like to help please contact Stephanie Rhodes for any additional details. 434-851-2559
They are also looking for some teen girls to serve on the committees regarding the planning of the upcoming Women’s Conference. Contact Stephanie Rhodes for details.

Thank you for the privilege of ministering to your student,
